Ice cream bread

I have seen this pinned many times, I have seen it on Facebook as well. " make bread with ice cream and flour." Umm, right.
So when I got sent the pin again, challenge accepted.
First off, make sure to get self rising flour, apparently that makes all the difference. I decided to make coffee ice cream bread because I thought, what could be better then coffee bread!
So, I did what the directions said "2 cups ice cream and 1 1/2 cups self rising flour." This is what happened when I stirred and put it in bread pan
After, I put it in the oven and crossed my fingers.
The receipe said 45 minutes, I guess it depends on your oven but it took my oven 47.5 minutes to get the knife to come out clean.
I was shocked at what came out after those tense 47.5 minutes, honest to goodness bread!
It was warm and crusty and really nice looking. I just couldn't believe it, I am easily amused but come on, this is like a party trick that no one could see coming!  After looking at it and being amazed I cut into it,
Bread!!! I don't know about you but I was so excited. Ice cream and flour really makes bread. The hubs, my two boys and myself were speechless. We all took a bite and despite our skepticism it was delicious!!!! It was warm, moist, and sweet. Now, to be honest it didn't taste like coffee, it was not the coffee cake kind of taste I was envisioning. However, it was bread, did I mention it was bread!!!!!
I was prepared to disappoint everyone who pinned this receipe and write about how it was a soupy ice cream flour mess, but I was soooo wrong.
In closing I am going to make this  with chocolate ice cream to see if it tastes like chocolate bread. But, try it, love it and be amazed that ice cream and flour really do make bread.
